Design and Functionality

The design looks similar to a regular cat tray. It can take a number of different litters. We found it's worth trying a number of them to see which works best for your cats.

Self-Cleaning Mechanism

A simple rake design moves soiled litter to a covered compartment. This design has worked for decades. 

Quiet Operation

Not the quietest of automatic self-cleaning litter boxes.

Spacious Litter Area

The Pet Zone offers a generous litter area for most size cats.  

Odor Control

The odor control is a carbon filter used to attract odor, no a great method. Soft poop can get stuck and leave the trap door open.

Maintenance

When you first use it, keep checking the box to see how long it takes to fill. There are no warning sensors. Check rake weekly.

Considerations:

1. The Pet Zone falls at the lowest end of the price spectrum for litter boxes. While the price is less than a quarter the of some of the other self-cleaning litter boxes, it doesn't come with all the bells and whistles, but still does its job.

2. Maintenance: Although it self-cleans, occasional maintenance is necessary. You’ll need to replace the tray monthly. The rake needs wiping clean to reduce odor. 

3. Power Dependency: The self-cleaning mechanism relies on electricity. Be prepared for potential disruptions during power outages.

In summary, the Pet Zone offers convenience, cleanliness, and a cat-friendly design. Prospective buyers should weigh the smaller cost against some of the additional benefits higher end models offer.
